Research and Planning - Production diary

Intertextuality is when two pieces of media intertwine with each other, for example a music video could link in with a film, this could be by the; costume, use of colour, hair and make-up, mine-en-scene, etc. We acknowledged this but did use it in our music video, it was a suggestion but I think we thought it was best to keep it our own.

We tried to think of the purpose of music videos and what we want to find in music videos, the main aspect was the artist singing, which is something that we wanted to incorporate just as much as creating a narrative throughout the music video.

When planning we had to end an email to the artist who's music we are going to be using, this is a formal letter to ensure that we have copy right agreement. We then researched into different music videos in our selected genres to grasp the key concepts.

We then researched into different camera techniques and angles, this was some practice shots and clips to recall our memory and camera skills as we haven't really used a camera since our AS studies.
