Actor release form

Having an actor release from ensured that there wasn't any issues when filming and that the actors knew where the footage was going to be going, it's really to cover our backs and to ensure that the actors information is all safe. We had this form to ensure that there was no reasoning for the video to be taken down from YouTube because someone in the shots don't agree, this way we are sure that they are okay with the footage being made public. Seen as it was myself and Todd it was guaranteed that we were going to agree to this as it was essential to be able to complete the coursework.

Animated storyboard

I decided to make the storyboard animatic as it helps show shot by shot the visual that we want to achieve and what we achieved, when it came to actually filming we knew that we wasn't going to follow the storyboard exactly but I tried to make the images as detailed as possible to ensure that we had a good idea of what to do and there wasn't a lot of standing around trying to think of ideas.

When we started filming it all flowed really well and we was bouncing off the storyboard thinking of improvements and different ideas that we could add in, having this storyboard helped a lot when filming even though we didn't follow it completely.

Audience feeback

This is a short video where we have interviewed two fellow peers and asked them for some feedback, for the ideas that we have about our artist. The results that I received were positive and went accordingly therefore I am happy with the feedback we received.
Here are the following questions that we asked the peers;

Which name do you prefer?
  • Max Dwell
  • Jacob Tabart
  • Ryan Potter
Why do you like this name the most?

What would you prefer the artist to wear?

  • Suit
  • Hoodie
  • Jeans & Jacket
Hat or not a hat?

Hat type of hat?

Why wear a hat?

We asked these questions to ensure that we had the audience on board with the ideas in which we were thinking of for the artist, we think this was a very important process as the audience are the people who the music video is being made for and if it doesn't interest the pre-production they won't be engaged and excited for the final product.

Planning - Production diary

When planing for our music video we had to send an email to the artist who's music we are going to be using, this is a formal letter to ensure that we have copy right agreement. We then researched into different music videos in our selected genre and other genres to grasp the key concepts.

We then researched into different camera techniques and angles, this was some practice shots and clips to recall our memory and camera skills as we haven't really used a camera since our AS studies.

Font ideas

For our music video we then used a font from 'Final cut pro', this is what we liked as a font style for our music video, as soon as we saw it we thought that this was the best choice for our video because of how slick it is and it looks like a signature; as if it has been signed by the artist himself. It also fits the genre and the narrative for our video because in comparison to others, it's more delicate and smooth where as the other three are either too rigid or doesn't match our genre/narrative. This is the font we have for our final video.

Jessie J - 'Who you are' - Poster Analysis

This is ‘Jessie J’s’ poster to advertise her album ‘Who You Are’. This poster has been used to promote her album to encourage a wider audience to purchase it. I will be analysing this poster.

Crew list

Here is our crew list, the purpose of this is so we can see which team member is in charge of each part of the process. However we took extra responsibility on two items, props and locations although we al made the final decisions.

Social media - Jacob Tabart

Social media by Jemma Ward x

Creating a social media page for 'Jacob Tabart' was something that as a group we decided was essential as it helps draw in a bigger audience and keep the 'fans engaged even before the music video is released. We wanted to ensure there was synergy throughout therefore we included images from filming to show the 'fans' and get them excited. We had to ensure that it was fit for the target audience, and make sure there want anything inappropriate on the page.
